- Exchange email addresses.
- We will share these things once everyone has finished.
Most of you likely have some idea what network administration is, but may not know why it is important, the responsibilities or network administrators, some possibly jobs, etc. In this activity, you will learn a bit more about network administration and think about and discuss why it is important.
- In groups of 2 or 3, please answer the following questions (use Google and the article):
- What is Network Administration? What are some responsibilities of a network administrator?
- Why is network administration important?
- Browse the article, "Role of Telecommunication Technology in a Firm," by Angela Ogunjimi. Describe the important roles of telecommunications in an organization.
- Search Indeed.com for network administrator jobs. What is the general outlook? What experience is needed? What is the annual salary? Give the highlights of one or two job postings.
- Overall, why do you think it is important for a business/MIS major to understand network administration? How do you think this will be applicable to your field of interest?
- Once you finish we will share with the class.
